What is Good Friday All About?

April 19, 2014

Today is Good Friday…. the day Jesus was crucified and Easter Sunday is the day he ascended through the resurrection.

Cross-3

Read the story in the Bible at Matthew chapter 26 – 28 or Luke 22-24 for the full story.

Jesus came to show us the way… not to do it for us… he taught only LOVE. The message he shared is timeless and the parables apply to everything we do and experience today IF we are willing to let thought go higher to the spiritual meaning of the actions in his time and of what is going on today.

Sharing the Easter story in easy to understand terms…

Jesus was crucified for doing good and not “playing the game.”  Games continue today in many aspects of our lives and his resurrection was to show us the way to overcoming evil with good always and rising higher in our thought of what Life really is about.

He was betrayed by one of his own followers for money.. we see that today people selling out for money.. no difference then or now.

Pontius Pilate the governor and representative of Caesar “crowed sourced” what do do with Jesus by asking: Matthew 27:22 & 23 “What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified. 23 And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified.”

It seems the public is always wanting to crucify someone for their beliefs…

For the next 3 days.. think about what this story means to mankind and how you fit in the picture.

What is your role in history?

What is your purpose and reason for being?

Jesus knew he had a purpose on earth and as he was being crucified with the other malefactos he said Luke 23:34 “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.”

How can we take that lesson today with forgiveness and Love?

Take a few moments to read the story in Matthew or in Luke to understand the persecution of good and what your place is in the resurrection of thought.

Easter Sunday signifies a new reality of what life really is…..Spiritual not material and Jesus proved it.  Think about the words you hear at any funeral, they reference the resurrection and the fact that Love Lives On! Jesus proved it for all mankind to have hope and understanding of this reality.  The crucifixion and resurrection uplift faith to understanding of eternal Life.

He is risen

Rejoice with those around you this weekend and celebrate the unconditional Love, God has for you.  You are so loved and you need to feel and KNOW that no matter what the past has been.  There is only the NOW and going forward with new understanding and light.  The resurrection shows us the way to only good and life eternal.

The first step toward WORLD peace is  knowing there is ONE God who surrounds and protects us all WHEN we listen and follow doing only good.  Overcoming evil with good under all circumstances.  Then… we have to LOVE our neighbor as ourselves.  This means you have to LOVE yourself first so you can share that Spirit and BE the reflection of the LOVE that created you!

Every day can be an Easter filled with benedictions new!

Have a beautiful weekend and start each day new with the LOVE of Christ in your heart.

Thanksgiving and Thanksgivukkah Once in 70,000 Years!

November 28, 2013

Happy Thanksgiving from our home. 2jpg

Thursday, November 28, 2013 is a National Day of Thanksgiving in the USA

It is also the first day of Hanukkah so a new phrase has been coined with the hybrid name of, Thanksgivukkah. This will not occur for another 70,000 years so it is a very unique occurrence.

George Washington proclaimed the first Thanksgiving and each President thereafter has written a Proclamation address expressing gratitude and Thanksgiving to and for the American people.

Share your traditions with family and friends or create some of your own if you have not started, incorporating gratitude and Thanksgiving into daily lives and actions!

The vision and the dream of the pilgrims should not be lost in 21st century technology.  We the people, need to unite in harmony, respect, kindness and love for one another.   Something to think about as you celebrate this holiday is how you fit into the growth and progress of America.  Those before us had a vision of freedom and fought to uphold the concept that all men are created equal.  Lets unite with our forefathers and live that dream together.

Happy Thanksgiving and Thanksgivukkah 2013.

Today, May 20, 2013, a tornado of possibly, historic magnitude hit Moore, Oklahoma.

If you are needing help or want to give help, click on the RED CROSS site set up for Oklahoma. They need your donations and your prayers!

ABC news  is one of the hundreds of news agencies that have breaking information on what is happening.  They are updating this site on a regular basis.

Many people are waiting to help in any way possible after the devastation of today’s tornado.  The local service agencies are asking people to stay away as the first responders need to get in to help those in the rubble.

The most important thing we can do is PRAY for OKLAHOMA.

We can also include the world and all the unrest we have going on in so many areas in our thoughts and prayers.  As we process the devastation in natural disasters of this past year  we can come together in individual neighborhoods to really love our neighbors before we are in a crises!

April is Child Abuse Awareness Month

April 21, 2013

Did you know that April is Child Abuse Awareness Month?

Community Awareness Actions Can Make The World A Better Place

Flagstaff County Court House

Flagstaff, Arizona Coconino Country Court House is the location of a major statement sharingApril as Child Abuse Awareness Month.

Last Sunday I was out taking photos of Spring in Flagstaff, Arizona and I came across this display in the middle of the city.  The recent events in ConnecticutBoston and West Texas have really put many of us on numb with reference to sharing online.  Upon reflection of the tragedies and how people have rallied to help their neighbors, it seemed like support of projects that are trying to reach out and create awareness need our attention as well.

If one more person becomes aware of the horrible death statistics for children during April that means we have started to become conscious of things around us that might need our help and love.

It appears that the tragedies we have experienced recently all come back to the perpetrators feeling unloved and ostracized. Maybe we can take that information and reach out to anyone that might be hurting and express love in some way.   This means we need to be aware of those around us and giving a smile, offering a helping hand and showing kindness to those that may seem different is some way.

Tribute to child abuse victims

The flags in the lawn commemorate each child that dies last year in Arizona.

The sign in front of the flags indicate 5 children a day die from child abuse across the country.

What a wake up call to stop and think about what each of us can do to help.

                                  5 children die each day

April 22, 2013 there will be nation wide marches across the country to help raise awareness on child abuse.

To find events in your area and more information on marchig against child abuse click here.

The field of Hope display was shared and paid for by the Exchange Club of Flagstaff.  By making the financial commitment to create this statement they are touching the world.

Please consider sharing something about Child Abuse month with people in your area to make a difference in your community.

                  Banners

Help is needed in Arizona through Prevent Child Abuse Arizona There are things you can do to make a difference.  Children are in need of foster parents, clothing and more.

For National information check out the National Movement for America’s Children.

Search child abuse awareness in your area and see what you can do to support your community. If the recent events have moved you to think about preventing tragedy before it strikes.. this might be a door to walk into.

We change the world by changing ourselves… it starts with us and and how we are thinking and processing the tragic things that are happening in our world today.

Community actions can make the world a better place and it starts with us.

What can you do to prevent child abuse?   Google your community programs!  Get involved!
